Super Sandwich...

Peanut Butter and Jelly Superhero Art Print

Yesterday was  PB&J for lunch day... which got me thinking.  Should a woman of my age still be eating peanut butter and jelly for lunch?  Shouldn't I be eating some more refined, healthy, MATURE sandwich?  Something with hummus, or cucumbers (NOT a fan, btw), or arugula?

Yesterday I didn't even use the reduced fat or natural peanut butter, rebel that I am (NOT), I went for the full fat loaded with sugar creamy peanutty goodness.  And I had it on Whitewheat, which is really no better than good ol' white bread... with chips (ok, they were at least baked) and a real NOT diet Coke.  I may be struck by lightning just for writing all that, much less for eating it.  But let me just say, someone better bring me a PB&J when I'm in the HOME... and I prefer apple jelly, thank you very much.

You are never too old for peanut butter and jelly - Its probably my ultimate comfort food. I like raspberry preserves and a glass a milk! (What if it was peanut butter and fluff?!?!)

You're never too old for a good PB&J. What the heck is white wheat bread? That cracks me up.

There is no age appropriate food. I still eat animal crackers, and I'm sure people associate them with children, but for no real reason other than they're shaped like animals (which I also enjoy). They're just a delicious snack. So go ahead and enjoy your pbnjs on whatever kind of bread you like!!

Totally appropriate for any age! I eat them every week. I even stick a banana in it and fry it. And I enjoy every bit of it!

PB&J is a classic for a reason. There is a restaurant here in Philly that sells them for like $16. But I prefer the classic, like mom used to make, kind.

Luckily, I am mom now, so I get to make them for my kiddo.

I am totally with you on this. There are some things that can't be eaten healthy and PB&J is sacred. I have to have Peter Pan creamy and I will not sacrifice my peanut butter! Hope you enjoyed!
