Down by the Seashore...

She Sells Seashells Art Print

My brain is still on vacation, so please indulge me... have you ever been antiquing in a beach town?  No better kitsch anywhere than the crazy creative goods folks have COVERED in shells.  I love shells, have them all over my house to remind me there is more to look forward to than driving to soccer practice and monitoring homework (there is, isn't there???).

Here are just a few funky fun finds from my recent trip to the seashore...

Picture this dude sitting on your dining room buffet or mantle...

If you can't get to the beach, there is TONS of cool shell art on Etsy, here's a girlfriend for our Adonis I found at AnneReaDesigns...

Seashell Goddess Diana

or make your own like we did in this framed shell art project for Dear Daughter's room...

She sells seashells by the seashore.
The shells she sells are surely seashells.
So if she sells shells on the seashore,
I'm sure she sells seashore shells.

It's not too late to enter... GIVEAWAY!

In the seashell theme--I bought some bath salts lately at a small shop in Wimberley and the owner was selling big sea shells to use as a scoop for the salts (at $1.95 a pop). He took a shine to my 11 year old daughter that looks like she is 16 and gave her one on the way out :) Good idea though to use a pretty big shell in your bathroom next to the pretty glass jar holding the pretty bath salts :)

Great post and pics! I love shells and have a daughter that was absolutely addicted to them as a small girl. I covered a large ginger jar lamp for her which she still has. Shells are so amazing and pretty. Thanks for sharing! Julia

I love to go in local shops when I'm on vacation. I'm always amazed by what I find :) The shells look great framed in those bright frames. What a fun project.

I LOVE the beach!!! It's been so long since I've been able to go there - but it's just so calming. I need to find some time to get there!!!

Love the shell art. I've never looked for antiques at the beach but I'm going to next time!
