The Queens of Karaoke

Dorethea Belts Out Living On A Prayer

Went to Karaoke Night at a local trashy dive pub last night to celebrate a dear friend's birthday... holy mother of American Idol wannabe's.  Really.truly.amazing.  If you are in need of a truly excellent belly laugh, haul yourself out to watch your local plumber get his Bon Jovi on... entertaining does not even begin to describe the experience of watching your friends, neighbors and every other average Joe bust out their inner rock star. Did I sing, you ask?  Do I know EVERY last word of EVERY obscure song ever written?  Pretty much... am I getting up on that stage to let you hear how awesome I KNOW I sound when belting them out in my car?  Not a snowball's chance...

When Handsome Hubby first started traveling to Japan for business, his Japanese co-workers told him he was required to have a "signature karaoke song" before he went... seriously?  Let's think on that, shall we... what would your signature karaoke song be, should it be part of your job requirements?

I love Karaoke--I've decided my ultimate karaoke song is "Grenade" by Bruno Mars. Only because it's so ridiculously epic like that.

Hmmm my choice would be anything by Pat Benatar or Meatloaf ;)and I can think of way worse things bosses have "required" me to do!!!

I have never done karaoke, ever. I feel like it should be on my list of things to do. Like it just terrifies me - and yet everyone seems to be genuinely having the time of their lives. I mean no one says, oh I had a terrible time at karaoke tonight. NO ONE.

I haven't done karaoke in years! For me, it's anything old school, and everything Tom Petty!

Hey there new follower from Hop along Friday! The one and only time I ever and will ever sing at karaoke was like a virgin by Madonna... yikes!
Love the photos in your post by the way!

Yikes! I would be fired on the spot if my job required me to have a Karaoke song!
I'd probably have to sing a Tom Petty song. I sang soprano in high school, but can't hit the notes anymore!

I must say it would be "No One is to Blame" by Howard Jones or "Save a Prayer" by Duran Duran. Enduring classics...ha ha.

I know your daughter is around my daughter's age--has she found Glee Karaoke? We play it on the Wii. Super fun.

Haha, oh no! I would never be able get up there and sing. But if I did, it would have to be something crazy and funny to make up for my lack of skills.

I'm afraid that karaoke just isn't for me! No way would I get up there in front of everyone. I'll do my singing in the privacy of my car.

I’m stopping by from Hop Along Friday and following on GFC, Twitter, and Facebook. I'd love for you to drop by my blog and follow back.

I have never done karaoke either. I can't sing and don't think I would have the courage to get up on stage to belt any number out:):) The mere thought has me bursting out in rashes:)
