Confession Friday...

June 1950 True Confessions Magazine

Some of you may remember this post about my plan to start the C25K plan...

Ok... so I had good intentions. Really, I did.  I think I got lazy sick or something and after the first week I stopped, and I actually felt GUILTY that I had blogged about it but didn't finish.  Like, I will never even meet most of you fabulous folks IRL, but I felt like you would be virtually shaking your heads and giving me the TSK, TSK finger wag.  So, what have I done?  Well, I jumped back on the wagon so to speak... but I didn't tell you, because I was afraid I might disappoint you again (even though you didn't know I did it the first time)... and I waited until I was 100% committed to reveal... so where am I now?

WEEK FIVE, DAY THREE

Why am I telling you this now?  Because WEEK FIVE, DAY THREE is the first day in the program that has NO WALKING intervals (I'm sorry for shouting, but this scares the living $%#@ out of me)... I have to run for
TWENTY STRAIGHT MINUTES

Vintage House Number

and I am going to do it TODAY.

Let us pray, shall we?
Heavenly Father, Please do not let Kelly die on the treadmill... AMEN.

You made me smile. I know what you mean about disappointing your blog readers!

You can do 20 minutes, I know it! It's really hard to get up to that point but seriously, once you are able to do 20 minutes it gets easier. I run twice a week on the treadmill and the first 20 minutes are always the hardest. The adrenaline finally kicks in after that so don't be discouraged if it's hard at first!

I love that art print about the couch. =)

You can do it! Just go slow and steady and it will be over before you know it.

I find that treadmilling while in front of the TV also helps. :-)

I know what you mean about failing your followers!

I'm pretty sure no one has been holding their breath for pictures of my vegetable garden, but I feel a bit guilty for hiding it. I posted a picture of it when it was first planted, but not since. It looks awful now!

On the upside, I've gotten a few cucumbers from it. Everything else, not so much.

I feel better now. Confession is good for the soul.

I bet you can do it! You are going to feel so accomplished when you do. You will be running marathons before you know it!

You can do it!

I find it easier to exercise while listening or reading something... it keeps your mind distracted so you're not so focus on...

Oh...gawd... it hurts...

...If you know what I mean. Good luck!

You made me smile.... I do the same thing when it comes to my readers! I'm so afraid of disappointing them! But things like that happen and what is important is that you are BACK! and sticking to it. Goodluck today. You will be fine. :) Sea Marie

I have a yet-unfinshed project that I posted on the blog back in March? April? and it's still not done and may never be, and I kind of hate that. :)

They say it takes two weeks or something like that to change your routine and get into something new. I never seem to make it to two weeks.

You can do it, mama! As long as you're doing it indoors in the air conditioning. Make you sure let us know how it went!

Hooray for you for not giving up! I found that listening to audio books on the treadmill kept me on longer! Keep it up!!

Lol.. I remember true confessions from the 90's. Do the still publish that mag? And didn't they have others like "True Romance", "True Crime" and so on? Lol...

Good luck with your training!

Thanks so much for featuring my running print! (:

I am in the very beginning of the couch to 5k program too and the run for 20 minutes thing is making me nervous already!

I followed you with GFC so I can follow your c25k journey!

Haha, I love this post! Way to go! Months ago I announced to all of my friends on facebook that I was going to run a half-marathon in October (what a terrible idea!)... but I fell off the wagon, and unlike you I didn't manage to climb back on. :P

Anyway, I'm pillowsophi from Etsy (and the Undiscovered Vintage team); I just thought I'd stop by to say I'm following you now! Of course, a follow-back would be wonderful... but I should warn you, my blog is still in its beginning stages. :)

Oops... I suppose a blog link would be helpful, eh? ;)

Run, Kelly, Run! You can do it!
Just keep saying, "I think I can, I think I can, I think I can..." like the little engine that could :-).
(Easy for me to say--I'm one of the folks on the couch you're lapping.)

You are so funny but honestly I couldn't even walk for 20 minutes, I am aiming for the Guinness Book of World Records for longest time spent reading blogs :)

I'm your newest follower and would love a follow back.

Hugs,

I totally advise the C25K plan. I started with a half-marathon in January and of course did not train the month before because of the busy holidays. I finished but came home and threw up...who starts with a half marathon? so stupid.

YOU ARE AMAZING!!! Oh my gosh. I'm still doing week 1! HAHA. I have such a difficult time with it and with my knees. I swear if I was using a treadmill, I probably could have progressed by now. But asphalt hates me. YOU GO, girl!
