Fun Friday - Banana Boats!

Some of you are still not quite ready for cook-outs, but WE ARE!  Don't hate me... you will get there soon enough.  When you do, try this fun little dessert Dear Daughter learned from one of her Girl Scout leaders.  She cooked it over a campfire, but it works just as well on your backyard grill...

First, easy peasy ingredients that you possibly already have in your pantry... bananas, marshmallows, and chocolate chips.  We only had the big fat marshmallows, but if you are buying ingredients, I would suggest the smaller version... also we had milk chocolate chips, but if I were buying them I would go semi-sweet.  It's totally a personal preference, anything goes... might even try peanut butter chips next time.  YUMMO!

As you see in this pic, peel back one strip of the banana and leave it attached.  Take a spoon and scoop out enough banana to make it resemble a canoe...a little bit riper banana seems to work best.  Then load that baby up with marshmallows and chocolate chips!

  9. Mmmm... looks good!! I won't be trying that (I don't eat marshmallows or chocolate chips ;), but have you ever tried roasting an apple over a campfire? Super fun, and good with cinnamon/stevia (or sugar ;) YUM!
